Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Next Entry
Who: Hannah Abbott and Terry Boot and EVENTUALLY Tonks.
What: Terry's favorite shirt is ruined so it's Hannah to the rescue!
When: Sometime after their classes and dinner
Where: An unoccupied corridor.
Why: Because Hannah is awesome and Terry is awesome and some first years pulled a rotten prank.

Hannah Abbott had meant to go and find Terry Boot shortly after she had offered her assistance to help him fix his shirt, but after a long list of distractions piled up she completely forgot about it. Well, it wasn't that she forgot about it because she could never and would never forget about Terry. She felt bad that his favorite shirt had been ruined, despite the fact that it was an amusing image to replay in her mind. Of course, she was more upset by the loss of his beloved shirt then amused by the way his face must have looked - all contorted in surprise and rage. Hannah smiled when she thought about it, she had taken in a lot of Terry's facial expressions and they had always put a smile on her face - why should this one be any different? But in any case she was about to rush off and find her beloved friend, Terry, when her cat Merlin decided to run off with her slippers. Hannah then spent the next hour sitting behind the common room couch as she urged the small critter to come out and return her slippers. As the minutes turned into an hour, she grew frustrated and when the time clocked in at 78 minutes Hannah realized that a simple 'Accio' would suffice and she, in turn, kicked herself for being such an idiot before retrieving both her cat and her slippers and returning to her dorm. Unfortunately, by that time she had become so sidetracked that her textbooks spoke more to her then her journal and she completely forgot that she had been going off to find her friend.

Needless to say, Hannah remembered the next morning at breakfast. She had gone over to the Ravenclaw table, given Terry's hair a tousle and promised to meet him after dinner that night. Hannah had been looking forward to it ever since. Terry was such a brilliant person to be around in Hannah's opinion. He had made her feel absolutely wonderful the last time they had seen each other and all that they did was talk. It wasn't awkward; it wasn't too heavy, or too light. It was the perfect combination of humorous and momentous conversation all tied into one. The idea of being able to see him again, just the two of them, made her more then happy. Hannah had forgot one major detail in the 'I'll meet you, you'll meet me, we'll fix that shirt' plan though - that detail could also be known as the LOCATION. It took Hannah a few seconds to realize she had no idea where she was walking to and she sighed in frustration. "I'm such an idiot" she said softly to herself, scuffing her feet as she walked. How could she leave out such an important detail? She must've been worried about her Transfiguration essay or something. After all they had a new professor this year and she had to make a good impression.

Fortunately, Hannah's wandering mind led her to forget about her frustration and eventually, directly to Terry Boot; and I mean directly. Hannah's newest habit seemed to be nearly killing the boy everytime she ran into him. This time though, she literally ran into him. She had made a sharp turn around a corner and caused a head on collision with none other then Terry Boot himself. Hannah let out a soft yelp as she tried to steady herself and the other person - gripping his forearms as she regained her balance not realizing it was Terry just yet.

OOC: lol sorry about the other two. >_<

When Hannah mentioned that she could help him, he'd gotten happier about the situation. I mean, first years pulling a rotten prank on you, ruining your West Ham shirt with the signatures of the team on them, that's big. Especially when you want to play for the team when you get older. Terry was furious with the group of students, he wanted to get pay back, but until he could figure out an idea, he had to figure out how to get rid of the stains on his shirt. He knew Hannah could do it, but when would she? He hadn't really talked to her about it.

Terry had talked to Hannah earlier in the Great Hall after she'd tousled his hair, and they agreed on meeting up. But, she hadn't told him where to meet her. Terry didn't think much of it, he'd bump into her eventually. Well, what he didn't think was that he'd literally bump into her. Terry had always liked accidently bumping into people in the hallways, not expecting to see them, but randomly they appear and he can have a nice chat. But, when you literally bump into someone it isn't that fun. If you're a boy bumping into a girl, that usually means the girl will fall over and the boy has to catch her, well that's kind of how it went with them.

When they collided around the corner and he felt her grip his forearms he grabbed her shoulders to keep her from falling. "Well hello." he replied quietly once they'd both regained their balance and situated themselves. When he remembered why they'd met up, he pulled his shirt out of his bag. Terry held it up and sighed. "Here it is." he said sadly as he held his shirt up to show Hannah. It had large yellow, and black blotches covering every inch. "Bloody first years." he muttered and hung the shirt over his arm. He grinned when he saw her look and flipped some of his hair out of his eyes. She looked so cute, all disheveled and he couldn't help but notice her messed up hair.

Well, that was a familiar voice. Daring to raise her eyes up to look at the person she had collided with Hannah realized that it was the exact person she had gone off looking for! She couldn't help but grin then, not letting go of his forearms just yet, "I was just looking for you!" she informed him as she stood there in a very disheveled state. Hannah hadn't thought of fixing her hair after such a collision, she was more worried that she had hurt Terry again then what she might look like. "I didn't hurt you, did I?" she asked, finally realizing she still had a tight grip on the boys forearms and let them go.

Hannah stood silently before him as he dug around in his bag for the shirt before he held it for her. "Merlin." she said softly, looking at the stains that seemed to form an illogical pattern across the tee shirt. "Well, they did quite a number on it, didn't they?" she said as he draped it over his arm. "Unfortunately for them, they had a flaw in their master plan." she told Terry in a rather formal manner. "The flaws name is.. well, me! Cause I'm a bloody genius and I can fix that in a snap." she said, holding her 'professional' demeanor for a good second or two before breaking into a smile and letting out a small laugh. "Okay, okay, I promise I'll never do that again." she said, raising her hands as a peace treaty before reaching up and taking the shirt from him.

And before Terry could even respond, Hannah had taken the shirt from him and laid it out on the bit of floor in between the two of them, sitting down in front of it and crossing her legs indian style. She seemed to stare at it for a good moment or two before digging into her robes and retrieving her wand. She knew the spell all right but she didn't want to mess it up because then Terry's shirt would not only be ruined for good but he'd also think she was an idiot. It wasn't long before she put that fear aside though and pointed her wand directly at the shirt, closing her eyes and muttering the spell. When she finally peeked out to check on it she realized that she had, in fact, properly performed the spell and saved Terry's shirt which caused her to grin.

"Just call me a hero, grovel at me feet, worship the ground I walk upon, I know - it's wonderful, simply amazing." she said with a small laugh as she picked the shirt up and gave it back to Terry.

Terry looked at Hannah once she apologized and he smiled. “It’s alright. As long as you didn’t fall right?” he asked with a grin. He could tell she was happy to see him, and he kind of figured you could tell he was happy to see her, seeing as there was a smile planted on his face. He felt some hair falling into his face, so he flipped it back and bit at his lip. “Glad I found you, this shirt can’t wait all year long.” Terry teased with a slight laugh. He loved teasing, especially Hannah. She could take it and didn’t get angry. He hated it when girls took his jokes seriously and got angry at it. It was pointless really, he was only joking, so he got into the habit of saying, ‘I’m only joking.’ Just so they knew that he wasn’t serious. But he found that Hannah knew he was and could laugh it off.

"I know. That's why I was so frustrated at the lot. They're bloody reckless." he said with a sigh and shook his head. Terry couldn't help but laugh at her 'professional' face and watched contently as she took the shirt and spread it on the ground. He flinched at it hitting the cobblestone and watched her. She closed her eyes and concentrated. When he saw her take her wand out and wave it around, the stains vanished. His eyes immediatly lit up and he felt a smile spreading across his face. He could feel his stomach leap and he hands came out of his pockets to hug her. "Bloody hell! I could kiss you!" he exclaimed and pulled her into a hug. When Terry pulled away he pressed a kiss to her lips and pulled away a second later. "Thanks Hannah!" he exclaimed once more and tucked the shirt into his pack once more. "I will worship you forever!" he said with a nod and ruffled her hair.

With all the excitement he'd had, he couldn't really tell that he'd actually kissed her, until he'd calmed down and realised that he had. "Erm..." he said quietly and felt his face warm up. "About..." he started. "About the uh...the kiss..." he stuttered some more. Bloody hell this was embarrassing. "Sorry..." he finished with a sigh and a sheepish smile.

Hannah was quite content excepting his very grateful compliments, it made her feel good. He was like a whirl wind at the moment, saying this and that and then hugging her and then, Hannahs eyes opened wide. She felt her cheeks turn such a bright red that she didn't know what to do about it. Had he kissed her? She couldn't tell, it was all such a blur. Maybe it was just a hug, it was just a hug wasn't it? No because she could still feel his lips on hers, it wasn't a hug. What was it then? Did he normally do that? Suddenly she felt overwhelmed with jealousy at the thought of that - but he couldn't possibly do that to everyone otherwise she would've seen it or at least heard about it. What should she say?

She was about to open her mouth, she was about to murmur a 'wow, that was the best thank you i've ever gotten' but then he apologized and she visably flinched. Oh, it was an accident. He hadn't meant it, suddenly she felt like she might cry. Oh, she was such a girl. She felt so stupid, she suddenly felt awkward. Her limbs seemed to be weighing her down, her once pink cheeks were pale and she felt like she was going to cry as she pulled in a deep breath and looked at her feet but she couldn't cry - not in front of Terry - not in front of anyone. Hannah hadn't even cried when they told her her mother died, she waited until no one was around which is what she would probably do now.

"Oh" she finally said, not being able to contain her disappointment. She tried desperately to fix her expression to a content one - to twitch her lips up into a smile and joke about it but she couldn't. Hannah continued to stare at her feet, looking at the floor and then his shoes and then hers. Eventually she raised her eyes up to his and, oh she couldn't cry. She turned away for a moment, shutting her eyes for a few seconds before turning back. Her lower lip became the center of her focus as she gently bit down on it and looked at Terry. She wasn't going to cry, even though she looked like she might. She was strong, she was. It would be stupid to cry over it anyway. It was just Terry, it was just Terry, it was wasn't it? She tried to keep her eyes focused on his but she couldn't and eventually they fell back down.

"I'm not." she said after a moment, it was just above a whisper and it wasn't meant for Terry to hear. It was a thought, it passed through her head and came out of her lips without her even realizing it. If she had realized it she would've turned pink, she would've kept her head down but she didn't instead she decided to put it aside and look back up at her friend once more.

When Terry found out what he'd just said to her he felt horrible. Why had he said sorry? It wasn't an accident, he meant to do it. "I'm not sorry, that's not what I meant. I mean, I guess I meant to do it, and...I wanted to." he said with a nod and blinked a few times trying to figure out how to word it. "I...I guess I wanted to..." he rambled. He knew he'd made her feel...well not very great. "Hannah..." he started again and looked up at the girl. "I uh...I meant to, I just didn't know if it...startled you. I kind of don't know what I'm doing when something exciting or happy happens." he finished with a sigh and a weak smile.

Wow, he probably confused her even more. He didn't even really understand what he'd just said. With all the pauses, stuttering, and silences. Terry got nervous when he felt bad for someone and...well right now he was really nervous and a little confused. Hannah was a girl, he knew girls were emotional, but why would she cry? Even though he didn't know, he had to make her feel a little better. I mean, she was probably more embarrassed then he was right then.

When she said that she wasn't he smiled and ruffled her hair. "Hey," he said quietly and pulled her into a hug. He could tell she was...well ready to cry. He didn't want her to, she was his friend, and he cared about her. Terry rubbed her back as he hugged her and pulled back. "It's okay," he said quietly and brushed some of her hair out of her eyes and gave her a fishy face.

Truthfully, over all of Terry's fumbling Hannah couldn't get a grasp on whether he actually meant it or not. Instead of interjecting though, she stood awkwardly before him with no where to put her hands and nothing to focus on and she had never felt so strange before in her life. She had come close to moments like this before though; where her skin felt too small and her limbs got this lanky awkward feeling to them and it suddenly felt like she was stretch armstrong and everyone was staring at her - only no one was. Just Terry, just Terry who felt as awkward as her - who was stumbling over words to take back the thing that made her feel so horrible. She felt her stomach twist and turn but her limbs still felt heavy.

But then he hugged her and at first Hannah stood there, with her arms pressed to her sides and her eyes focused on the bit of tile that was a little off color but then she responded, she let her arms slink around Terry. Her face immediantly buried itself in his neck and she couldn't help but notice how much he smelt of soap, and pine, and some sort of shampoo and his clothes - they smelt clean - like the detergent her mother used to use. It smelt familiar, it felt nice. She hugged him tighter, she was feeling better by then, so she shut her eyes and she didn't cry. She shut her eyes and took a deep breath and she didn't cry. She was proud of herself despite the fact that she still had no idea if he meant that kiss or not.

Finally, Hannah had to pull away because if he didn't mean it the only thing she would remember was how good he smelt and the way his stupid hair fell in his face and how good it felt when he kissed her and - "So.. did you mean it?" Hannah finally asked, her green eyes peering up at the boy. She didn't want to convey any type of emotion so he wouldn't alter his answer due to the look on his face. She wanted to tell him that if he meant it she would jump for joy or maybe have a heart attack or something else just as crazy - but if he didn't well, Hannah hadn't prepared herself that far. She would probably, smile an incredibly fake smile and continue having a conversation with Terry. Hannah swallowed nervously as her ears were greeted with silence, she felt her eyes wander back down to the floor before back up at him and she opened her mouth to say something - to say what she wanted to say but she seemed to choke on air and instead kept her mouth shut.

Terry took in a breath. His mind was like a tornado, everything was spinning, his thoughts were racing, and he didn't know what he was thinking. Thoughts were flooding his brain when he felt Hannah hugging him back. He wasn't sure if she'd accept the hug, he was being a bit rude. I did tell her that he didn't mean to kiss her, you don't say that! But he smiled and took in a breath. She smelt good. Her hair was soft and it smelt like some kind of shampoo. He wasn't sure what exactly it smelt like, but it smelled good.

"Yes." he said with a nod and a sheepish grin. "I meant to kiss you." he continued and bit at his lip. "I just didn't know...well how you'd react. So, I thought if I said that I hadn't meant to...well you wouldn't be all creeped out I guess." Terry finished finally and rubbed his neck softly. "You alright?" he asked quietly glancing down at her and pulling her hair softly. He could tell she was still a little upset, and he wanted to make it up to her.

"Hey, you fixed my shirt, so what do I have to do to thank you?" he asked with a grin and jammed his hands into his pockets. Terry flipped some of his hair out of his eyes and glanced around the empty corridor. His mind was still racing, but not as much as before. His eyes wandered back over to Hannah, and rested on her for a few seconds. They explored her face, and then found themselves looked into her eyes. They were so...hypnotising. He blinked and felt a blush covering his cheeks as he looked at the ground.

It was then that Hannah could feel the way her cheeks began to rush with color, and lips tugging up into a grin and suddenly she was hugging Terry all over again. She hadn't quite expected their meet and greet to go like this but she didn't mind - well, now that she knew what he had meant, she didn't mind.

"Really?" she asked, feeling her lips quirk into an even bigger smile as she stood before the boy; completely content once again. "I'm fine - I -- uh well what I mean is" she paused, should she apologize for over reacting a bit? Had she over reacted? Yes, she had but what girl didn't? Every girl did, even the ones who swore they didn't! Some were better at hiding their reactions than others and normally Hannah was better so she didn't know what had gotten a hold of her just then. "I'm glad you did." she finally said, looking up at him. "Kiss me that is." she said, clearing her throat and giving him a sheepish smile. "I hoped you would - eventually" she admitted.

"Well, then, that was the best thank you I've ever gotten." she pointed out as she gave him a playful smile, falling back into step with her normal self as she stood there, reaching up and tousling his hair so it fell in his eyes. She grinned at him then, gently biting her lower lip. He was cute, and kind, and he'd kissed her and she felt so wonderful. "Thanks."

Terry smiled when she said that she was glad he had. He was glad he had also. He'd wanted to kiss her at least once this year. Terry liked her since their fourth year, but then it was just a little crush. The boys teased him about it, but now, he was kind of in love with her. She was pretty, kind, funny, and they clicked like two puzzle pieces. They had so much in common, but they had differences also.

"Did you really?" he asked with a grin. He loved teasing Hannah. "Well, I guess I hoped that I'd get the guts to eventually." he said with a nod and bit at his bottom lip. Terry finally got it off his chest, kind of. He hadn't exactly told her that he liked her, just that he wanted to kiss her this year. Now that she knew that, maybe he could kiss her again. Maybe later, not now.

He couldn't help but laugh at her comment and grinned. "You're welcome I guess." he said with a small laugh. Terry scrunched his face up as he tousled his hair and laughed. "Thanks for that Hannah." he muttered under his breath and scratched his nose. Glancing at Hannah he couldn't help but smile and tousle her hair a bit.

Hannah couldn't wipe the smile off her face, she was desperately trying to but she just couldn't do it. And when Terry teased her she let out a small laugh and gently shoved him like she always did. "I'm glad you did." she said with a nod, still trying to lighten up her smile but she couldn't and eventually she would have to give up.

For a moment Hannah just stood there watching him, but that moment broke when he reached up to muss up her hair and she shook her head at him before flattening her blond locks again. "Messing up a girl's hair, psh Terry Boot. You should know better" Hannah didn't care that he'd done it but she could tease him too, she always had. Quirking a smile at him, she took another step closer to him and at first it seemed like she would returned the gesture and mess up his hair as well but instead Hannah uncharacteristically decided to be bold. She stood in front of Terry and looked at him for a good moment, remaining completely still and after a moment another smile crossed her face and she reached up, cupping his face in her hands and pulling him into another kiss but this time it was a real kiss. It wasn't one given to someone in a rush of excitement, it was one that she was very conscious of and it was one that she would remember. After a moment Hannah finally took a step backward and looked at him, biting her lower lip. "And that's what I've wanted to do quite a few times."

Terry probably hadn't seen Hannah ever be so bold before. Normally, she was more bold around him but it wasn't about anything this big and if it was he had said something that urged her on to be so bold. This was one of the first times Hannah had ever gone so far as to pull such a bold action on her own.

Terry nodded and smiled down at the Hufflepuff girl. "Me too. I know if I hadn't...I probably never would have." he replied with another nod and bit at the inside of his lip. Terry could feel his hands pull out of his pockets and run them through his brown hair. He couldn't help but notice the knots tying up into his stomach as the girl stepped forward.

"I know. But I like messing up people's hair." he said with a smirk. "I do it for fun." he added in with a small laugh. She looked up at him, just looking, and then he felt her hands cupping his face. Terry didn't really know what was happening at that very moment, but after her lips met his, he kissed her back. She pulled back and stepped backwards. Terry didn't really want it to end, but it did, and he'd have to make do with what had just happened. She just kissed you... he heard his mind saying quietly. Terry couldn't help but smile and he couldn't find any words to say. Hannah...Hannah was never bold. She never kissed anyone, they kissed her. She never really...showed any public signs of affection. Maybe a small hug, but a kiss. She was changing.

Terry had to admit, she was really cute right now. All innocent looking, and he couldn't help but laugh. "Y'know, you change everytime I see you." he said with a nod and a small smile.

Terry was smiling and Hannah could feel her own lips twitching up to meet his. A smile was good, very good, a great reaction to her kiss. She felt like a trillion butterflies had just erupted into her stomach and she wanted to -- she wanted to -- oh, she didn't know what she wanted to do. She just knew it was a wonderful feeling.

"Well, I try - you know, to reinvent myself" she said with a firm nod before she quirked yet another smile and looked at him. She felt her hands slink back instead her pockets as she had no where to put them now but she didn't feel uncomfortable, she felt like she was right where she should be. Merlin, this was better than Potions homework.

"We should do this more often." Hannah said with a small laugh as she stood there before him.

Terry saw her lips pulled up into a smile and he couldn't help but feel proud of...well he didn't really know. He just felt like he'd made her smile. Terry brought a hand up to his hair and ran his fingers through it, pulling the little parts forward that were suppose to go forward.

He watched her hands go into her pockest as she watched him. Terry bit at his lip and nodded. "Well...what shall we do now Ms Abbott?" he asked curiously and lifted his gaze to her face. Terry didn't know what to do, well, he knew what he wanted to do (kiss her once more), but he didn't. He couldn't. It'd be too much, not twice in a day. Maybe when they have to go back to their common rooms, but not now.

"I know." he agreed with a nod and smiled. It was awkward, too awkward. Terry couldn't help but shift his weight to his other side and then he broke. Terry started to laugh. "I'm s-sorry." he said through his laughter. It was awkward, and Terry laughed about it.

Hannah stood and watched as he nervously shifted his weight. It wouldn't be long before they had to return to their common rooms because curfew was about to kick in which would lead to an inevitable detention if they were caught. Hannah stood silently as Terry stood there and tried to fill the silence. She desperately tried to come up with something terribly witty to send them spiraling into a wonderful conversation like they usually did but nothing came to her. The only thing she could think of now was how he smelt and how he kissed and she felt herself smile even more.

"Sorry? For what?" Hannah asked curiously, flipping her hair behind her shoulders as she watched him. "I know." she said suddenly before he could answer "You're sorry you're not as clever as me because you couldn't fix your shirt." she said in a joking manner. "It's okay, one day I'll teach you all my ways young Skywalker."

This was so awkward, no one was saying anything. Hannah looked content, a little nervous, and Terry knew he looked nervous. There weren't any noises in the corridor, just their breathing. In, out, in, out. Terry held his breath and listened to her's for a while, and slowly let out a sigh. Soon, he could hear himself humming. Humming a Weird Sister's song. "Dance, your final dance, this is your final chance, to hold the one you love, you know you’ve waited, long enough." He heard himself singing quietly.

"I dunno." he said with a shrug and felt a smile pulling at his lips. Soon enough he was stiffling a laugh. "You're right. I'm sorry I'm not as smart as you." he said with a nod and raised a brow. "Skywalker? I'm not Skywalker!" he protested with a small grin.

"You aren't? Well gee, then what should I call you? Chewy? Solo? I obviously get to be Yoda so I thought it'd only be proper for you to be Luke!" she said in her defense, showing off a keen sense of the muggle knowledge she acquired over the summer. Hannah had wrapped herself up in a lot of their culture. She never knew uh - renting videos could be so much fun. The boy who lived on her block had heard about her mother's death - hell the entire neighborhood had and Hannah had learned quite a bit about all his favorite things - Star Wars being one of them.

"So Chewy then, huh? It suits you and you're wild hair." she said with a cute smile as she reached up and mussed up his dark locks.

Terry gaped at her. "I'll be Solo thank you very much. He's very handsome." he said with a nod and rolled his eyes. "Chewy?" he sighed and shook his head. "Hannah, you have time to learn that Chewy is only for...well dogs. I'm a handsome young man, and Han Solo is also handsome, meaning we're the same. I'm Solo." Terry informed her with another nod and a cheesy smile that was supposed to look handsome.

"No! I'm Han!" he argued with a very childish, pouty face. Terry flinched at her messing up his hair and sighed. "I just fixed it Hannah." he complained in a whiny voice.

"Fine, fine, you can be Han Solo you wet blanket." she teased as she stood there with her arms crossed across her chest. "Solo doesn't have 'the force' though" she said putting air quotes around the last words as she continued on her explanation "He's just a captain with a wookie as a sidekick. I mean he's cool and all but .. you know .." she said in a vague manner. She could've easily played off a certain air of annoyance but her smile held it against her so instead she laughed as he let out a whiny voice.

"Awh, I'm sorry Terry, I didn't mean it!" she said, putting her hands up defensively before she reached up and fixed his hair so it looked like it had before she ever touched it. "There you go, all better." she said with a firm nod. "Forgive me?"

Terry frowned at her wet blanket comment and sighed. "Hannah, I've told you a million times, you're the wet blanket, not me." he said with a shake of his head and a small grin. "Hey! A very cool Wookie. I might have to send him after you. At least I'm not wrinkly and green." he shot back with a grin and sighed. "Hannah, Han Solo is a captian of the Millenium Falcon." he said in an informational voice and a swift nod.

He couldn't help but laugh as she fixed his hair again and he smiled. "Well, you should know by now that my hair is very important to me." Terry informed her with a small nod and a quick wink.

Hannah let out a soft laugh and nodded. "Oh yes yes, how could I forget." she said with a sigh as she shook her head. "I'm so disappointed in myself. I'd never make it in Ravenclaw - I'm too forgetful." she informed him as she nodded her head in a slow sad motion. "I guess it's okay because.. Hufflepuff is better and all" she said as she lowered her eyes to the floor, though she quirked her head up a bit to peek out at him and see how he would react to the 'attack' on his house.

"I know, I know, I was being rude and I did it on purpose!" she declared almost evilly as a grin twitched onto her face and she laughed. "I'm just kidding, I'm just kidding. I did it because teasing you is just too much fun to give up despite how important your hair is to you." she said in a blantently honest tone with a swift nod of her head.

Terry smiled at her remark about never making it in Ravenclaw but quickly frowned when she attacked his house. "Better? I love your humor." he said with a grin and shrugged. "But, I guess Ravenclaw is better because of our brains." he said with a nod and tapped the side of his head.

He laughed at her grin and felt his jaw drop. "You love teasing me? Well, I love teasing you too!" he declared with a nod of his head and a grin spreading across his lips. Terry loved talking to Hannah, they were always joking, laughing, and he could see her smile all the time.

"Oh, yeah? Well.. Hufflepuff is better because.." Hannah thought for a moment before a highly offended look crossed her face which made it seem like Terry had said something incredibly rude to her even though he hadn't. "The sorting hat makes us sound like a bunch of dogs!" Hannah exclaimed suddenly, "How we're loyal and true, and unafraid of toil. That's how you describe a dog!" Hannah said incredusly. "I never thought about that before now, oh bloody hell - that's just not fair." she said, as she angryily crossed her arms across her chest and continued to mutter about the stupid sorting hat before her eyes caught his face again and she turned a bright red, "Uh, well... I mean.. garn." she said with a small laugh, "but it's true, think about Hufflepuff's rhyme, just think about it! I ought to stuff that hat in a stuffy old trunk." she said before she shrugged. "Well, I guess it isn't so bad I mean being loyal and courageous isn't a bad rep, yeah?" she said, practically holding an entire conversation with herself.

"We're a pair of loons, you and I." she stated with a nod and a laugh. "You know, I'm not normally like this - it's your fault. You bring out the head case that I really am." she stated in a sure voice as she grinned at him, "not that that's a bad thing or anything."

Terry grinned at her attempt to out-do Ravenclaw and laughed. "Dogs? Nah, how about badgers?" he asked with a small smirk and hten held his hands up in defeat. "I'm only joking, don't kill me." Terry said with a small laugh and listened to her complaints. Was she really this upset about Hufflepuff? "A stuffy old trunk? Sorry Hannah, but I don't think that'd to much." he said in a sympathetic tone and a small grin. He couldn't help it, she was so upset about Hufflepuffs being compared to dogs.

"I prefer odd balls." Terry replied with a nod and nudged her softly. "My fault? I'm not doing anything, just being myself. It's your fault Ms Abbott." Terry argued as he gave her a small smile. "Of course it isn't bad, if it was bad, I wouldn't be as popular as I am." he bragged. Terry couldn't help but add in a little bragging here and there. It was fun.

"Oh, I'd make it do something." she said with a very authoritive look. "Wouldn't know what hit it." she said firmly as she folded her arms over her chest and presumed a rather strong figure.

Hannah smiled over at him and nodded, she had the urge to tousle his hair but she resisted and instead let her grin widened. "Oh yeah, I'm not a member of the 'We hate Terry Boot club'" Hannah said, shifting her eyes and her weight accordingly as she stood there. "You are.. popular." she said trailing off as she looked around.

Terry raised his brows at her and nodded his head. "Alright. You do that Hannah." he replied with an okay sign with his hand and grinned. "But - really it isn't that big of a deal. You're fine in the house you're in and you're a brilliant girl." he said in a comforting tone. "Almost as good at Granger." he had to add in.

"There's a club?" he asked curiously, a surprised look on his face. "No good." he said and shook his head. "You really think so." he said and blinked slowly. "You're joking." Terry said with a smirk.

Hannah laughed and nodded, "Oh, I know - I love Hufflepuff. We're terribly underestimated but that's mostly by Slytherins and -- it's hard to care about their opinion anyway." she said with a firm nod. Hannah could remember quite a few times that she had been hassled by them but that was nothing new to any of the houses. They were a right nasty lot and nothing was ever going to change that.

Hannah laughed at the several expressions Terry's face turned to. She reached up and gently cupped one of his cheeks in her hand. "It's okay, I'm joking." she said with a slow nod - obviously trying to convinve him that her joke was not in fact a joke by -- well, by saying her joke was.. oh, it didn't have to be explained.

He couldn't help but smile at her comment. At least she supported her house. "I know. They're bloody rotton." he added in with a nod. "They underestimate everyone, they think they're the best." Terry continued on. He could remember when a few boys from Slytherin had cornered him and threatened him, but luckily he got out of it alive.

He smiled at her comment and nod. "I know." he said quietly and leaned down to lay a kiss on her lips.

"Oi, let's get rid of the entire house. I'd keep the first years if we could get rid of the Slytherins." Hannah said, before quickly interjecting "Well, there are a few nice ones" she paused, "but I haven't met any yet. But if there is a good egg in there, we'll keep them." she said, flashing him a winning smile. "It'll work!"

She felt her stomach twist up in knots when he smiled like that and the way he practically whispered his respond, she felt her smile soften as he leaned towards her. She could feel her heart leaping into her throat and then she leaned up and kissed him.

Terry couldn't help but laugh at her comments about getting rid of them. "Let's do it. We can gather up Michael, Anthony, Megan...Mandy?" he said with a nod and an evil grin. "Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff will defeat all." he said with a grin and another nod.

He felt her kissing him back and he felt his hand move around her waist to pull her a little closer. Terry pulled away softly to laugh and then kissed her again.

"An army of badgers and birds. Ravens? Birds." Hannah said, trying to pick out the Ravenclaw mascot in one breath before smiling. "I think we'd win. Snakes have no ground against us." She felt herself grin, quirking her lips up to one side of her face as she stood there.

Hannah obediently obliged when Terry's arm snaked around her waist. She took a few steps closer to him and moved her other hand up to rest on the opposite side of his face. When he pulled away, she was more than disappointed but not for long as his head dipped in again. Her arms slid up and around his neck, her feet shuffled closer, and she forgot to think about the aurors and prefects patrolling the halls now. Curfew had probably been enacted but neither of them had a watch and neither one seemed to care and all that mattered right now was Terry Boot and the way he was kissing her.

Terry nodded. "Snakes are sure to lose. Ravens...I think." he said in a curious tone. "Wait...that's really sad. I don't know my own house's mascot." he said with a laugh and shook his head. Terry Boot couldn't remember who the mascot was.

He couldn't really believe they were doing this in the hallway. Aurors were patrolling everywhere, and for all they knew they could get caught. That's when Terry heard footsteps. He pulled away quickly and looked behind him. When he saw a shadow he grabbed Hannah and turned the corner so they wouldn't get caught.

"Well, I knew it was a bird and I suppose it's a raven cause you know Ravenclaw house. It's implied. Hufflepuff doesn't have a huffle though but then again I don't think theres a huffle creature who roams forests, free lancing through towns, and what not. So they just gave us a badger." Hannah said in a ramble before shutting up.

Hannah hadn't heard the footsteps, so the sudden jolt she got when Terry tugged her was more then a surprise and she let out a soft, strangled yelp before toppling into him as they rounded the corner. It was only then that the apparent footsteps had become obvious to the girl and she shut her mouth and looked up at Terry and then back to the corner they had just turned.

Terry laughed and shook his head. "A huffle. I picture this small yellow puff ball hopping through a town with a smile." he described and bit at his lip. "I don't understand what a Huffle even is. Helga Hufflepuff right?" he asked with a curious grin small dimpled appearing.

He couldn't help but smile at her small yelp and covered her mouth. When he couldn't hear the footsteps he looked back at Hannah and smiled. Terry leaned down and started to kiss her again. He couldn't stop, she was so pretty, and he liked her so much. But, they were caught by the sharp clearing of someone's throat. "What are you two doing?" he heard a voice say.

Tonks hadn't expected to find anyone out and about during this round - not yet. It was late enough for the students to be well aware that the curfew had begun but not late enough for them to start sneaking out - so who were the two figures who had just darted behind the wall? Tonks already had her wand gripped lightly in her hand and she knew it was probably just two vagabond students out and about despite the specific rules - but you could never be too careful - not after last year. Besides, she'd need it to light up the dark corner they had just jumped into. As Tonks approached her footsteps became softer, her breathing swallow and barely audible and finally she turned the corner and ignited her wand to find!

Two students, just as she suspected. Of course, the way they were going about it - well.. well they didn't want to cause her any trouble. Tonks cleared her throat, letting a smirk curl on her lips as she bit back laughter. "Oi, you two. Whatcha doing out now, you know there's a curfew, yeah? You're both in violation." Tonks informed the two baffled kids. They looked about 17 - maybe in Harrys year, maybe in Ginny's, she didn't know. They were both in seperate houses though so perhaps that was their reason for this, um, escapade. The taller boy was a Ravenclaw and the smaller, timid girl was a Hufflepuff. She recognized her but only from the report of her mother's death she'd gotten at the ministry. She couldn't even rememebr her name but she would learn it soon.

"What's your names? Years?" she really didn't want to give them detention but - oh she'd figure it out after they talked.

His reaction was a bit delayed, he didn't know what to do. He was in Ravenclaw for merlin's sake! Terry looked at the woman, and opened his mouth to say something, but nothing came out. "Erm...I uh..." he stuttered and looked at the ground. His mind was racing, but Terry couldn't think of anything to say. "Hi...we were - were just..." he started again. "y'know." he finally ended and shook his head.

"Terry Boot," he finally got out and managed a smile. "Seventh year." Terry sighed and looked at Hannah. He nudged her a bit to have to say her name and year. He didn't want to get in trouble.

Hannah was a bit taken offguard, she hadn't even heard Terry's stuttering - she was still too busy taking the woman in. Oh boy, what sort of trouble would they be in? Detention? Worse? Hannah swallowed and came back to reality when Terry shoved her. For a moment she forgot about the woman and was about to protest but her shining light broke her fantasy and she felt her eyes widen. "Hannah Abbott, 7th too." she replied in a respectful tone. She often had to introduce herself to her father's business friends so she was used to it. Terry didn't appear to be used to it at all.

Tonks felt bad that the boy was tripping over his words, which was most likely caused by his nerves. She really didn't mean to frighten them, after all she was just an auror. She was doing her job. Maybe they thought she was one of those stiff necked aurors walking around with a stick up their arses and their noses pointed towards the sky. Either way, Tonks' intentions had been to learn their names and send them on their way after a good talking to and unfortunately- detention.

"I'm Tonks." Nymphadora said, introducing herself accordingly, "and unfortunately for you, I'm an auror." she was surprised at the authority she managed to grasp but it was how it had to be done, right? For their own safety, but oh she hated giving out detention. "Don't worry, I won't start a riot and yell at you guys. I just need to know, why you were out so late?" and then Tonks remembered the situation she stumbled upon the two of them in and she put a hand up to indicate not to answer. "Never mind. I um, well, rules are rules and according to the ones I recieved I have to give you detention." she said, in an apologetic tone. "You really shouldn't be out here you know. It's for your own good, you two should've kept track of time." she informed them - her eyes traveling from the blond to the brunette and back again.

When she asked what they were doing and then held a hand up, he blushed and bit at his lip. Terry nodded as she spoke and felt his stomach lurch. A detention? How could he get a detention? That would be the first one in seven years. Terry was a good kid. He never got in trouble, he'd caused trouble, but never got caught. "Oh..." he muttered under his breath and glanced down at Hannah. He felt like it was his fault that they both got a detention, knowing Hannah she was probably trouble free. "Erm...can't you let us off this time...I don't have a watch." he explained with a small smile. He really didn't want a detention. If he told the guys they wouldn't mind, they'd all had at least one, but not Terry.

"Alright," he said slowly and turned to start down the hallway. Terry waited for Hannah to turn with him and follow. You had to go down the same hall to get to their Common Rooms, but at one part Terry had to go left and Hannah right. Afterall, his Common Room was located in a Tower, and her's down near Slytherin.

Tonks felt a bit bad - the boy was obviously upset about recieving the detention and she would honestly revoke it but it wasn't just a meaningless sort of deal now. Giving and recieving detentions wasn't just a power trip - it actually counted. Tonks would never forget what happened last year and so be it if her leanancy was going to put students in danger. Despite her easy going ways, Tonks took her job as seriously as she could. She wanted to live up to the expectations of an auror, to make her family proud, to recieve a dignified amount of respect and actually deserve it. One detention wouldn't get her all that but it was a step in the right direction, yeah?

"I'm awfully sorry." she apologized. "You don't seem like the sort who frollics about and puts every effort into making trouble. I know that but this year is different and -- I would pardon it but." Tonks paused and offered them a smile. "I can't. I'm sorry."

And with that the turned and Tonks gave a weak smile as she flipped ope n a notepad to scrall the two names down.

Surprisingly Hannah wasn't really upset about getting the detention. It hadn't even phased her really. She was more amused by it all in fact. Of course it was terribly embaressing, but it was something she'd never forget. After they were out of the auror's ear shot Hannah turned towards Terry and bit her lip to hold back her laughter. "What a way to end tonight, eh?"

And with that Hannah let out a soft laugh, as she gently rubbed Terry's upper arm. He didn't look too pleased with recieving their detention - but that could've gone a lot worse so Hannah was thankful it had gone as it had.

Terry felt his stomach drop and nodded. "Alright." he replied with a small smile and glanced at the ground. "We'll try not to do it again." he apologised and nodded his head softly. He wasn't trying to suck up, he was being genuine and knew that he needed to apologise for what they did, he knew it was wrong. Terry looked down at Hannah and it felt as though his stomach dropped further. Hannah got a detention too. He felt horrible.

He reached for Hannah's arm and looked at the Auror again. "I guess...we'll see you later?" he said awkwardly and gave a quiet laugh at his comment. Terry turned and started towards where their common rooms were located. He knew they'd have to part at some point, but they both had to travel down the long hallway before they did part.

"You look like death." Hannah informed him as he silently walked beside her. "You alright? Detentions aren't that bad, and we might even have it together so it'll just be like a regular day but .. with chores." she said, not thinking about the fact that it'd be in their records but it was no big deal, right? Well, Hannah didn't think so. After all Hannah had done a few things that were out of line before and no one had expected it. She was a member of Dumbledores army in fifth year, so she wasn't the timid girl everyone thought she was after all.

"Cheer up boot." she said, grabbing his hand and giving it a gentle squeeze before letting it go.

His eyes looked in front, not really paying any attention to what just happened. All he could think about was what happened earlier. Him and Hannah were kissing...actually kissing.

He smiled and reached for her hand, but didn't let go. Terry looked down at her and kissed her on the cheek softly. When they reached the two different hallways where Terry went left and Hannah right, he turned towards her and sighed. "I'll see you later I guess."
